Daring Cardmakers Amethyst

I screamed with horror when I looked at this week's dare on Daring Cardmakers yesterday:

For the February Birthstone challenge we'd like to see cards with an Amethyst theme, this could be the colour, or maybe something to do with the meaning and mythology around the stone.
So off you go, you can use anything you like be it papers, gems, buttons, whatever comes to hand as long as the Amethyst stone is the theme

OMG Purple!!, now I have nothing against purple and I love it on clothes, but when it comes to crafting it's my nemesis - I just cannot work with it! As hard as I try, I struggle to come up with something I like with it. However, I really wanted to be in with a chance to win the gorgeous prize from David and Brenda at Craft Obesssions.

So I had a rummage in my meagre pile of purple themed papers and found a small old piece of paper (from One Heart One Mind I think). And it was double sided too, which was a bonus as then I didn't have to think about what to match it with. And here we have my card. I hope you like it. The bling kind of photographed a bit weird though. Thank you for looking.

Supplies:

Bazzil Cardstock
One Heart One Mind Paper - don't even think you can buy this nowadays
MM Just Chillin' Design Card for the butterflies, cut at 2" and 2 1/2"
Sentiment printed on a clear Avery label and stuck onto the cardstock
Bling from stash
Corners clipped using a small Woodware green circle punch

Leigh, how can you not like working with this colour, I’ve a good mind to ban you from the draw just for daring to think such a thing. Only kidding Lol!
You’ve done a fab job with your card so I don’t know why you were worrying.

Thanks for joining the daring Cardmakers this week and good luck in the draw.

Very Pretty - I think you did a great job! And by the way, I don't usually work well with purples either! Somehow I can never get the right color combinations, so I just let it go!

I know exactly what you mean! Purple has always been one of my most favourite colours but it's soooo hard to craft with, which I always find really frustrating, actually!
You've done a fine job and you've definitely met all the criteria to be with a chance of winning that prize....

I am not a purple fan either - it is my least fave colour crafting and otherwise! I think you have made a brilliant card though.
